Westin Camino Real

Planning a last minute trip for next week and found out the Marriott and Grand Tikal are booked solid. Has anyone stayed at the Westin? We stayed at the Marriott our 1st trip and found it to be very safe and adoption friendly. Can anyone share their experience with the Westin?

I have stayed at the Westin (visit trip) and the Mariott (pick up trip). I actually liked the Westin more than the Mariott. It was a little fancier, yet spent about the same money. Less adoptive families there, but very very nice!!

You also don't need a key to get in the baby room every time, just your key to get on the baby wing that contains the baby room and rooms for adoptive parents. Next time I go back I will choose the Westin over the Mariott. JMHO

The pool and area is gorgeous at the Westin! The restaurants are really good too! You won't be dissappointed! We've stayed at both the Marriott and the Westin and really liked them both. While there were less adoptive families at the Westin there were still plenty. Have a great trip!

Megan

There's a free breakfast buffet on the 9th floor (I think it's the 9th floor) and they have snacks at night too (free). Ask about which floor it is.

We have visited twice and love the Westin! THe hotel is wonderful and the staff is very nice!
Our son was very sick on our 2nd visit: the hotel called a doctor to our room, got all of our medications delivered, and helped us to mix the antibiotic.

i stayed there and i liked it too.
because it is the only place i stayed i dont have anything to compare it with,
but it's nice and the burgers are delicious...but a bit under cooked!
and they have good appetizer with beans!

do NOT order diet cokes they are EXPENSIVE!
even wine is cheaper! i think OVER half my food bill was diet cokes and i am NOT exaggerating!

on my pu trip i was able to find another family to pick up some coke from the local grocery and i saved a Lot of money!

no matter where you stay, bottom line is youll be having so many emotions it wont really matter!

also,
i went solo though each time there were other families who were there from my agency and that was GREAT,
but i found there to be plenty of adoptive families and i was able to visit and share to my heart's content.

cris....Happy planning.

We stayed at the Westin back in 05 -- we loved it. the staff was friendly and kind, and went out of their way to make sure we were able to stay in our room when we got "stuck" there in G.C. due to a air traffic strike.

Food was wonderful and the room we had was spacious.

Loved the Westin

Westin was beautiful, helpful and friendly staff, rooms are nice on the Family floor, free strller for the baby, the pool and coutyard area is beautiful.
Drinks are expensive, make sure to get the rate that includes breakfast or else it's expensive.
Area around Westin is really nice, lots of restuarants, pharmacies, stores and mall at walking distance.

Highly recommended!

I stayed at the Westin, been to the Marriot and Grand Tikal also..but to tell you the truth I preferred the Holiday Inn..we got a suite, were able to cook, felt safe, has a small pool, internet cafe, good breakfast buffet, in room safe etc..
