Hi,

I'm considering sending an e-mail to the embassy to inquire about the status of our PA, but I need their e-mail address. The test was done on 6/14, received at the lab on 6/19, and I received the results on 6/29. I called LabCorp last week and they told me they sent the result directly to the embassy via DHL. So I don't know if the 30 days count from the date the test was taken or the date the embassy receives the result. Still, I would like to have that information. Can somone please provide me the address?

Also, for those of you who have tried it, what would be the best way to word the e-mail so that they know what I'm talking about?

I would e-mail them. The biggest snafu in our process was at this very point. Long story short, there was an e-mail asking for 1 more piece of info that the Embassy swears was sent to us, agency and the attny on 12/8- no one rec'd this. The embassy did not respond to our e-mails and that of our Senators, until Jan 25th- with their PA.

The 30 days begin from the date the Embassy receives the results. I know it is tempting to email now but I would wait until the 30 days have elapsed......the time taken to respond to emails takes away from the time the embassy uses to issue the preapprovals. On a good note, the Embassy seems to be working quickly right now so it won't be too much longer until you get your PA!

They ask that you wait 30 days after results are in.

Jumping in on this topic to ask another question. Does that 30 days start over if an I-72 is issued?

They will tell you the 30 days starts over when they issue an I72, but it wouldn't stop me from inquiring about a week after the I72 was fixed!

If you inquire before the 30 days, you are just going to get a form email, so it's not worth the effort!

The e-mail address is Guatemala.Adoptions@dhs.gov but if you send it before the 30 days from when they get the results don't be suprised if they tell you they have 30 days to process this (that is what they said to me....I thought it was 30 days from taking the DNA test).
