those who have had an investigation
I was wondering, those of you who have survived an investigation....were you told it was going on? I was left in the dark for months waiting on my daughters BC to be redone, due to "damage"....? Now, have been KOed of PGN and waiting, so far, weeks, for a redo of the birth mom's BC. Since reading about the fraud and identity thefts, I question if there is something deeper going on that I am not being told about? Anyone have any experience in this area?

We were in investigation in PGN. Our agency told us. We asked and asked about what the investigation is/was about but we (and our agency and adoption supervisors) could only guess.
Ask you agency out right if you are in an investigation because they would know. Jennifer

We went through two investigations. I agree, ask your agency. Ours gave us limited information but we DID know why our case was being looked at more closely.

For our case, we didnt' find out from our attorney that we were in investigation until almost a month after the file was submitted to the Minor's section. I think this had to do with the PGN just not letting a lot of information out during the time it went in. Anyhow, since going into the black hole we don't get much in the way of news except for that it is still being worked on. If you have any specific questions for me regarding investigation you can feel free to pm me. More than happy to share anything I can with you.

We too have been ko'd from Pgn because of an error on the mothers birthcertificate. It was reported that the building that kept birth and death records for her region was destroyed during the cival war. I checked and found this to be true. I'm not quite sure when we entered pgn but I know we exited family court with pa on 1/4/06. In March I found out that we had been kicked out. According to my agency, there was some sort of law (rule?) that said that people wishing to re-register only had 5 years to do so. The birth mother failed to do so and that is why we couldn't be re-submitted to pgn. Our lawyer, Urizar along with others worked to get that changed and supposedly we went back into pgn on or around 6/22. It's been so long with such little information from my agency, I really don't know what to believe. Here's hopin that its soon for all of us.

We are currently in Minors in investigation also. Our birthmom had her BC reissued at some time in her life (not an unusual occurrence from what I understand) and apparently they want to verify that it is legitimate. Our attorney went to question where our file was since we should have been out of PGN 3 weeks prior, and that's when they told her we were sent to Minors 3 1/2 weeks before. She is checking weekly for us, but the only answer they will give is "still in investigation" so we have no other answers other than to know the reason for the investigation. Good luck with finding out more info, and I hope these cases are resolved for all of us soon (although I must say that reading this forum doesn't give me a whole lot of hope for that happening....).
