FYI....

I was so excited (Me ----> LOL) to see that if you create a registry with babies r us it now asks if you are adopting and explains that the expected due date is either when the baby is due or if your adopting when the baby is expected home! Just thought this was really cool since I dont think I have ever seen a registry recognize adoption until now!

Yes, the Babies 'R Us thing is new for them. I registered a month ago and it wasn't there, but I know it is now.

When my husband and I registered last year, they asked us our due date...I had to explain that we were adopting and why do they need a date...They told us because they need it for the computer, and for us to make one up...So we did! I didn't think that was right and was really upset about it. It's nice to see they've changed that.

I recently contacted four forumula companies and three diaper companies regarding this very thing. I let them know how much it would mean to us to acknowledge "adoption" as a choice when registering for products, coupons, etc. While one company did respond with a message that basically said "too bad - we can't/won't change; this is how we do it", three others are saying that they are looking into making changes to better reflect our demographic.

Pipercub -- for the formula clubs, just make up a due date and sign up. that's what I did. I still get all the checks/coupons

LOL, I put in my daughter's birthdate; I had no problem registering. My letter-writing was just providing feedback to those companies on what they can do to make their websites and "clubs" more adoption friendly. It doesn't hurt to ask and if no one asks, it probably won't change
