How to find the extra $
So.. I was sitting here thinking about our adoption and Vietnam. I get an e-mail about TWIN GIRLS that were just born from Guatemala. Now this is the THIRD set of twins we have come by in the past THREE days! We have the first set of fee's for one baby ready, but now we need fee's for the second baby.
How did you do it? I have an insurance policy that was taken out by my Dad before he died. It has been sitting since about 1985. It was a policy where he directly put $5000 into it and it was to be given to me when I was an adult. My half-sister who I have not spoken to since I was about 3 (LOL) has it and her name is on there as the owner. I have no idea how much it could be worth. So if any of you insurance agents have any idea, or any advice for me that would be great. Thanks!!!!

hi there,
when we found out that we were given the privelage of adopting twins we immediatly said YES! then we thought, "holy poop, how are we going to pay for this!?" we took out a loan and asked family for the rest. Unfortunatly, or fortunatly, we (read -- hubby!), make to much money for grants and things of that nature so we had to take out loans totalling way more than we thought that we would be spending! {Hubby told me that I have a $100,000 limit for adoption --- little did I know that we would almost reach that with one adoption!!!!!!!!}. So, I just made a realatively short answer REALLY long. Sorry about that! Good luck ..... Maura. |

Does your work do an adoption thing? DH's work helped us a lot. What about fundraisers or something, idk.
Praying that everyone on the forum wins the lottery!

There was a really great post a couple of weeks ago on fundraising ideas and how much people made on them. One family did a Beer and burger party and made close to $7000. Other people do garage sales. They get friends and family to donate items for sale.
Try and find that post or start a new one to ask people. There were some really interesting things that you can do to earn the money. Good Luck!
