The late night flight to Orlando began peacefully. Passengers boarded the plane and stowed away carry-ons. Some flopped in their seats and leaned back with closed eyes. Others opened books and began to read. We sat in silence as the plane filled. Suddenly the protocol of peace was broken as one of the last passengers entered the plane. She appeared to be in her early 30s and was a flurry of activity and non-stop talking.

“Stewardess, can you show me where I’m supposed to sit? And where do I put my bag? This is my first time to fly. I’m kinda scared. Am I on the right plane? Is this plane going to Orlando?”

Once seated, she turned to her seat mate and again spoke of her fear. To my surprise, she asked if she would hold her hand when we took off. The lady graciously agreed, showed her how to fasten her seatbelt, and soon we began to taxi down the runway. By now we were all awake, watching and listening to our live wire fellow passenger as we gathered speed. She held her new friend’s hand, closed her eyes, and muttered “oh my gosh, oh my gosh.” Right before we lifted the plane hit a bump and she screamed, “ Oh no, we just ran over somebody!”

We all laughed and then once we were airborne clapped our hands for her successful take-off. For a short time we bonded in common sympathy for a stranger. We rooted for her to make it successfully through a frightening experience. Someone had exposed her vulnerability to us and we applauded her efforts.

The world is full of frightened, vulnerable people. Some are going through experiences they’ve never gone though, perhaps a death, illness, divorce, or job loss. We can zone out and leave them to themselves, or we can rally around them, holding their hands and cheering them. If the kind seat mate had never flown before, of what comfort would she have been? Having flown and survived, she was able to help someone else. Once God has seen us through a hard time, we can be an inspiration for someone going through the same thing. Look for opportunities to be of comfort.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You today for all those here who are willing to set time aside to pray and encourage each other, whether it be for an adoption journey or a personal situation. I thank You for all those who have gone before and are able to encourage those who are in process. I pray for strength and perseverance this week for all those waiting on children to come home. jennifervan- -. - Pray that I would continue to lean on Him when I do not understand. I have been able to do that for a couple of days and He has given me peace. In the midst of our investigation and just "normal" cases having trouble with PGN- God has given me a sense of joy and trust in Him.
Pray that we exit PGN investigation in His time and exit PGN while we are at it.
Praise for Him and the blessings he has provided in my life. Praise for the comfort He has given to me lately.

Please pray for me to trust GOD in this and lean on my faith. It is a very serious condition. update on my uncle he is doing good on his chemo and is having much less problems swallowing and the food is starting to taste better. maurahunter-, I am so frustrated with this process. I get no updates...and my daughter gets older without me. I have been in 83 days...had one k/o for 1 day on 5/5 and nothing since then. Vickibunny-. We are into PGN for ? weeks now and hoping to get out soon. They also had to cancel my surgery and can't reschedule it until July and this puts me in horrible pain since they had to move the surgery. It also means that once the surgery is done I can't hold the baby for 4-6 weeks so I am stressing about that and hoping that she will be home long before then and adjusted to me so it wont be so hard on her to have someone else watching her.

Packgirl- -My father is battling Multiple Mylaloma.. Pray that his cancer is/and will stay in remission. pray for us to have a timely stay in pgn and not to encounter the same problems that we had in family court!

1. - Need a copy of our home study preparer's license. This was the next to last page of our home study! 2. - Need a copy of the results and findings from our 2nd psych. evaluation. our adoption agency sent that to them a year ago!
3. - Need more detailed explanation why the home study preparer approved us to adopt. this has really made me upset. I'm so tired of them "playing games" with us and jerking us around!


stepilynn- A very close friend of mine was admitted to the hospital with cardiac problems. She is 37 years old and recently brought home her infant son from Guatemala

Candace3-UPDATE-We lost our referral on April 28th, the birthmother did change her mind. We have been waiting ever since to be given a new referral and it is getting really hard. I need prayer for patience and I pray that we will be given a girl referral soon!

Sweettlc- Please pray for my husband and I. We are childless and I had to have a hysterectomy in 2004. We have a few things that might be strikes against us... Please pray that they find favor in us and accept us. Please pray that we will be able to adopt!

Sara’s Mom- -We finally got in PGN ! 6-15-06 Pray for us for a short stay.

Adcollins-. My husband got notification that he needs some further testing after a medical exam. It could be that the initial test was faulty, or that there's something relatively minor, or , it could be that there's something bad on the horizon. I'm trying hard not to get really upset, but I'm having a hard time of that right now.

dawnrenee58- I am fostering in Nicaragua, and have been here for 6 weeks now. While here, my husband's g-pa died, all the way across the country. He had to fly home all of a sudden, which was very expensive! It has also been much more expensive to live here than we anticipated...over $400 a week! So, I would LOVE prayers that we could go home soon.

Shoegirl06-A dear friend's daughter had been misdiagnosed with the wrong birth defect. It appears her condition now has increasingly worsened and is not expected to live past the age of 7 and will not grow anymore past this point (she's 2 1/2). Please pray for peace and understanding for her family. We entered PGN on 4/28 with PA, were kicked out on 5/19 because they lost my birth certificate, which was found a few days later and we were back in. the attorney who was looking at our case does not like the fact that our criminal clearances don't have cards signed off on . Because of this, we have to get our fingerprints done by the FBI , it takes them 8-10 weeks to process the request. We've had SO many delays in this process that I'm starting to lose hope.

Braedensmommy-Please pray for us. We have been in PGN since March 3rd and I am having a hard time. I pray for patience and peace. Braeden has been very sick and was hospitalized for seven days with what I think is severe pneumonia.. Please pray for him and our family. Please pray for my Braeden.

Mom2to-but we are stuck in INS waiting for 171h. The only thing I can think of to do is ask for your prayers and positive thoughts that somehow our application will be moving forward again.

Brie Brock- planning to visit on July 27th so I could use prayers.UPDATE- I am leaving to go on a 2 week mission trip with my son 16yrs old. May I ask for prayers for safe travel and that our mission work will be successful. Also ask for prayers for my husband and other children staying home!

ourdreamcametru-Just wanted to ask you for prayers for my neighbor and her husband. They have been matched with a darling little girl who is 5 and her bio brother, 2 since last October, they are in Guatemala. They were called for an emergency visit two months ago because the kids were not doing well at the foster home they were in. my friend told me that the bio mother had changed her mind after leaving the children 13 months ago! My friend and her family are devastated, they have rooms ready and everything sit up to bring these children home.

LAP momof5- We received Gabriela's referral a month ago. we got a call that she was throwing up and was put in the hospital. She is still there and has a fever again and is not eating much. They ran some tests and we should have the results mid next week. Please pray that she recovers and starts eating again. It is scary given that she just turned one month old.

Paramom- I am getting ready to travel.. Pray that I will trust the Lord to take care of my family while I am not here to shower them with my love. Pray that I will have peace throughout the visit. I have no doubts that I will bond with these babies, because we have already bonded with them in our hearts.

Braedensmommy-Braeden goes to the pulmonary specialist today. Please pray that God will be with him today. He is also removed from his foster home today. I am here in a state of worry.

It is now officially four months in PGN

Our little girl was diagnosed with pylorus stenosis last Tuesday. This means her bottom stomach muscle is too big and won't open to let food out. She has been projectile vomiting. She had surgery on Thursday and was released from the hospital on Friday. Please pray that she will continue to recover from the surgery and that she will be able to eat. We have DNA authorization and we pray that everything goes well and the test will be done this week. Please pray for the birthmother as I can't imagine what she is going through during the DNA test and SWI interview.

Foradoption-The first would be for my father, he's having surgery on the 17th near his brain and its a bit tricky.

The second would be for my brother in-law. He is 27 years old, has 4 kids and is the sole bread winner. They have no health or disability insurance. He's been having severe stomach pains lately and ended up in the emergency room. He's now scheduled for surgery tomorrow for a large mass near his colon. The doctor's aren't positive yet, but they're suspecting lymphoma.
