I am trying to get some information on the Children's Home in Antigua, but some are saying that it is very hard to get in there. Our agency has said that we could pick up the babies and go to Antigua, because it is much cheaper to stay there. But we want to stay somewhere that is suggested not just pick a place that no one has been to before.

we stayed in Antigua off and on for about 8 weeks during our adoption, and had great experiences! There is a travel agent, Nancy Hoffman, who will arrange your transportation, and find you places to stay within your budget. I will PM the places we styed, and her contact info.

I know Lockharts has stayed and recommends a place called Casa Azul in Antigua.

We stayed there for four nights during our pickup trip back in December. We really enjoyed it there. It is centrally located and quite reasonable. If I remember, I think we paid about $80/night including breakfast and in-room crib.

Worth checking out. Believe they have a website. I booked it through Nancy Hoffman.

We stayed in Antigua on both of our visits, I second the recommendation to contact Nancy Hoffman. You can tell her what price range you are looking for and your requirements and she can give you your options. We loved Hotel Antigua and would stay there again if we could. I was not as impressed with the Villa Antigua.

We rented a 2 bedroom apartment at Posada La Merced, but they have lots of rooms available as well and are VERY reasonable.
