USCIS in Philadelphia
We were planning to walk our application in, we have made 3 dates to take everything in and well, something always came up. So I am just going to stop wasting time (a month is already wasted) and send it. I have all of my documents + home study ready to go. How long does it seem like it will take? On the local line to call it says 3-6 wks from the date they have all documents. Does that include fingerprints?
I even contemplated driving the 4.5 hrs to Pittsburgh to have it done. LOL! I don't think they do our county though! |

waiting
I have been waiting four weeks. It seemed like people were getting the 797C (171H) in just under four weeks when I sent my homestudy in.
I would just send it in. You can fed-ex it there and you should get the letter to go for your fingerprints pretty quickly. You don't need an appt to go for fingerprints. You just need the letter. I think it takes 30 days to process the fingerprints, but that would put you at four weeks anyway. Unfortunately, we are stuck with the Phila office. I wonder if we should have moved to the other side of the state before we began the process. ![]() Good Luck, Kendra

HI,
Last year when I was waiting for the Philly office it took us 8 weeks to get our approval. Now I am waiting for our son's corrected CoC (name change), once again from the Philly office and they told me the processing time is 18 months!!! Yes you heard me correctly. I am still in disbelief. Stacy |
