Spring Beginners
Hey, guys. Don't think there's been a spring beginners' thread in a while, so thought I'd start. I had great news today-- we got our I-171H in the mail today! We can move forward. I am SOOOOO excited!!!
Hope some other spring beginners have had some good news this week, too!

We are so excited that we mailed our dossier and POA down to Guatemala today! Now the real waiting begins. But we really feel that we have progressed and are so very happy and relieved!

Congrats on the 171H and the dossier submission!
I just returned from having our dossier certified at the SOS office. We are leaving on vacation tomorrow. Before we do, I am shipping the dossier off to a courier to walk through authentication. She will forward it on to our agency rep. So, after tomorrow, it is essentially out of our hands - WOOHOO! I am guessing it will arrive at our agency the day before or the day after July 4th so we will then go on the waiting list for a referral. Very glad to have finally reached this point.

You guys are further along than me. I'm working on the dossier and finishing the homestudy. I mailed in the I-600a last week although because of a post office screw-up I have no idea if it was received or not.

Waiting for DNA - we just sent the dossier last week.
We have to get a new birth certificate first though... Seems the attorney forgot to get it corrected earlier - I hope it's fast!

Hi, I am new to the forum. Congralations to those that have received I-171H. I am still waiting for minel Run home and check the mail every day after work. Have been waiting for it 5 weeks now. Very frustrated with the long wait. My dossier is ready to go but agency doesn't send it until I-171H is received.

We had our home visit today for the homestudy!
The report should be ready within 2 weeks. We have been having quite a time with dh's medical. I think we have decided to get a new doc and start that over. (His current doc cannot fill out a simple medical form correctly and it's been over a month now!) I'm hoping we don't lose any time starting that over but we are in the beginning stages of the paperchase anyway so I think there is time...

Congrats on everyone's movement. We are in Family court and just got approval to take DNA. Test is supposed to be scheduled for middle of next week. Hopefully everyone shows up and everything goes well.

Wow, lots of progress for people this week! Our SW finished writing our homestudy, now we're waiting on the placement agency to approve it. I was hoping they'd have it done this week, but instead I'll hope for next week.

We are going into week 8 waiting on our 171H to come in. The good news?? We got a letter in the mail yesterday asking for more infor on our 171!! They've looked at it!! I've made an appt through InfoPass to turn it our answers for next Wed. I'm *hoping* that they will fix it right then and there and give me the 171. That's my wish anyway. Hopefully, this means that once they have the info, getting the paper is right around the corner.
Next stop... REFERRAL! I can't wait. Shannon

We were fingerprinted this past Monday and we received our dossier back from the Chicago consulate Friday. So, it's off to Guat next week!

We are almost done with the HS. We're still waiting on doctor letters( one redo and one that hasn't finished the first). BUT..... we got our passport renewal numbers for the HS so it should be only a couple of weeks now.

We are officially waiting for a referral. I am thrilled to be paper ready. It is strange, however, because there is nothing to do now except WAIT. The referral can come at any time I am being told. Wow. I forgot how hard it is to be patient! It sounds like everyone is making great progress! Lisa

We are just awaiting our referral. It's been a week and a half and from the timeline we were given, we've still got at least 3 - 4 more weeks of waiting. Also our dossier has been reviewed and we have a couple of documents to fix, plus a new process that I have to do for my certificate of naturalization. But I can do that while we wait, we don't get bumped off the list, so that is good.
That's all I know. Can't wait for the referral of course, but I'm trying to keep busy at work and with other stuff to make the time go faster.
