I don't have a lot of BIG money ideas - but some of the things I did were very popular (we live in a small town, too):

Sold homemade dog bones - went like HOTCAKES at work! Made a few hundred dollars.

Sold candles - also raised a few hundred dollars. Then I started making candles and selling them - that was more profitable but didn't think of it until the end.

Sold Smencils - BIG hit! Edited to remove retail URL

I know of a couple who held a BIG fundraiser and had posters around the entire community inviting them - they did silent auction type things, raffles, etc. They had donated Packer merchandise and all different types of things - they said they raised $20K!!!

We have a male English Mastiff! We haven't bred him in a few years, though. He's 9 years old, and I don't know if the old man has it in him anymore.

I have also sold things on eBay, and had a garage sale. For both, I stated that the proceeds were going to fund our adoption. Now I'm thinking of having a table at a craft fair, selling a variety of things, and maybe get a home business started this way. But it sounds like others have had huge success with fundraisers. I want to learn more from them! We are fairly new in the community we live in, so don't have family, a lot of friends or connections to have the level of success that others have had. Where do you sell your stuff?

We are just starting fundraisers.


We have a tupperware fundraisers starting tomorrow. Will let you know how we do. (two weeks)

We are having a lasagna dinner that will be a fundraiser and an informative program about our adoption. That will be Sept. 23

We are doing the recyling thing with cell phones and ink cartridges.


And then because we have a lot of teens/young people who want to help I came up with this idea. I bought the m&m minis in the tube and put a note on them that said we need BIG money for the adoption but every mini helps. Please enjoy this free treat and then fill it with change and return it to us (no pennies please).


All of our fundraisers are just starting so I will up date you as to how they go !
