Jennifer,

First I just want to say I honestly know how you must feel. It is beyond miserable, I know. I have been there quite some time. I have thought about backing out, many times, but I was worse off when my thoughts went in that direction.

There was one lady who really helped to give me perspective. She posted on the Platinum Club a while back. She said that she went through a miserable adoption that took two years. After the first year, she gave up on the child. And by some miracle, the same child became available again. She was so glad to have a second chance. It took another year to bring the child home. She gave her complete story, and it felt so much like mine, maybe yours, too.

I wish I could offer some comforting words, Jennifer, I really do. If you cannot find the post, let me know. I will try to find it for you.

Brenda

My friend that just adopted it took about a year to compleat. She was on the verge of giving up. At one point she got a call saying if her agency didn't get their butts in gear they would giver her son to another family. I remember her calling me crying that night. It was my DH's birthday and her's wasn't home. So we quickly went out to eat then spent the night with her.

I'd say don't give up hope. Find people around you that you can vent to (she did with me). She was actally on the verge of tears one Tuesday and she got the call Friday to pick up her son.

You don't want to mess with Suzanne either - TRUST ME

Seriously - It doesn't matter if our kids are home, if we are waiting in process somewhere or just starting the process - we are all in this "community" together. We are here to get you through this. Besides - look at Suzanne - if SHE can make it through this - everyone else can too!! She is our inspiration! Did I mention you don't want to mess with her? Thought so.....

Maybe get back to why you were doing this to begin with. I have started reading the book, "Fields for the Fatherless" and it is great. It reminds me of the why. God is bigger than the investigation. If we don't fight for these kids......who will? Your sweet baby will come home. Love and blessings!
