2 infants at once?

Has anyone else adopted 2 infants at once? My husband and I are just starting our homestudy and we're trying for 2 infants at the same time. Just looking for other that are in the same situation or have any stories to share.

Welcome!

Welcome and Congrats on starting your homestudy.

We did adopt two at once, but not on purpose.

We brought home our first son in 2003. In 2004 we started the process on a second son. Half way through our process with our second son and a 3 days after coming home from visiting with him for the first time, we got a call that the bio sister of our first son was just brought into the childrens home and she was 3 days old. The childrens home always tries to place bio siblings together so they offered us her referral and we accepted. So, my youngest two are 3 months and one day apart in age - they are inseperable are basically growing up as twins would.

One thing I will mention - there are several agencies that do not allow adopting two at once - so prior to selecting an agency, check to make sure they allow this.

Hope this helps!!

My husband and I are currently going through the process of adopting two baby boys. They were both born in May, 9 days apart. I know there are lots of us out there.

We are almost done with our HS and are going to adopt an infant and about a 3yo. We don't have a referral yet so we'll have to wait and see for sure. It will all happen if the Lord is willing and He provides the money. Best of luck on your journey.

Hi Kim,

We are adopting twin girls. I am not sure what your question is but it is possible. There are plenty here who are adopting 2 un biologically related infants. They may be better to answer your questions as with the same birth mom, we only needed 1 dossier but I think with 2 birth mom's you will need 2.
Good luck!
Maura.

We just came home two months ago with two baby girls that are now 9 months old. We love it and have no regrets about getting two at once. Besure the placing agency does this and gets enough referrals to have two referrals at once. You will also want a social worker that is not apposed to this. Anna

We adopted two basically at once (they came home three months apart) and they have both been home over a year now. Daniel was almost 12 months at referral and came home at 20 months and Lauren was 2.5 months at referral and came home at 11 months.

As others have said, make sure your homestudy and placement agency allow this. And if you have questions, ask away!

Good luck!

We're adopting cousins who were born in January 1 week apart. Therefore, there were different birth mothers, although the children are related. We did not need 2 dossiers, and our cases travelled through the system together. I realize that this is a unique situation, though, but I thought I would chime in.

We have two that were just released from the PGN black hole in the last two weeks. A little boy and a little girl. They are not bio twins but were born just a few hours apart. We are so excited and can't wait for them to come home!

Adopting two at once

My husband and I are in the process of adopting two at once. Homestudy is done indicating that we want to adopt two. To us is doesn't matter if they are siblings are not. If this is want you want to do, make sure your homestudy indicates two as well as your I600A (this is what our agency told us to do). If you need any more info, let me know.
