Nipple issues

Looking for larger nipples like the ones in Guatemala

Our baby is home and has nipple problems

hahahahahahaha

Anyway...
Celeste is very particular about her bottle and will really only drink out of the one that the foster mother gave us. I have been to Wally world TWICE since we got home - that would be once a day!! - to get more bottles to see if they will work. We know own Avent, Playtex, Gerber and Parent's Choice and she only likes the HUGE Gerber one that the foster mom provided.

Anyone know where to get big nipples in the US??

OK, I am delirious and need some sleep but I am SERIOUS!!

I need to find the big Gerber ones with the bulb at the end. I can't find them here in the US. Dangit - wish I would have realized how picky she would get once we were home. In GC she would drink out of the Avent ones but not now. ergh! I would've bought a few in GC. Darn!

I am not even tired from Celeste - she is a GREAT sleeper! I am just worn out from a house full of guests last night. Dh and I slept on an air mattress... zzzzzzzzz

I'm off to hunt for bigger nipples online........ then to BED in MY bed for the first time in over a week!

LOL we had the same problem. Olivia only drank out of one nipple, that was it, we had to keep washing it. Finally we got in touch with the foster mom before we left and turns out she never rotated the nipples, so it was a normal size nipple that she stretched out over time. We let her have it about a month after being home and then started giving her a normal nipple. It took a month and a half to get her switched over. Good luck. I have a pic of the nipple she used next to the same nipple in the original size.

Ah, the bottles. Well, I was so "smart" that I had given our foster mom a bunch of Avent bottles to switch her to when we visited at 3 mo. She did so successfully and then our daughter flat-out refused them from us!

We seriously tried about 1/2 dozen different types of bottles and formula before she finally accepted one, and it was nothing like she wanted in Guatemala!

Playtex nursers have an orthodontic nipple that is large. When we visited, we brought a few different types and he adjusted to this one pretty well. Of course the medium flow was an issue-he had to really work at getting his formula. You may want to give them a try. Most stores have them. Unfortunately you would have to convert to the disposable system. But until you can get your supply, they may work.

Did you try ebay for a large nipple? Just be careful typing in "large nipple" or you might get some really interesting auctions. Sometimes people have stuff like that they sell that's new, I don't know if I'd buy used ones, but that's up to you.

At least this thread gave everyone a giggle, it's like saying "fart" to a three year old!

I went to Target today and got their Circo brand latex nipples and so far so good! YAY!

She's been cranky all day... not sure why... but she is now playing with one of those kick gyms and she is kicking the heck out of it! She's playing so hard she is sweating!! What a cutie!!

THANKS SO MUCH to everyone! I hope that we have solved the nipple dilemma!
