adopting 2?

I know there are several here adopting 2 at a time. I am just wondering about the cost of 2 vs 1 at a time. Anyone have a ballpark estimate?

Thanks
Elaine

We are going thru two countries so it may be different. I have heard that 2 from Guatamala is almost twice the cost.

We are adopting 2 babies through 2 different lawyers (same agency).. The cost of everything was double.. We only got a couple thousand $$ break from our agency fee, but everything else was double.

Yup, twins are double. Checked on that myself because originally that's what we wanted. Just like twins, two babies that aren't related are also double. Some agencies give a discount on their fee for two. Our agency currently has another little girl that I would love to adopt, but it's not going to happen. In russia I think it's only a few thousand more to adopt two.

Yes, I believe so but it might vary with agency. We were open to twins but ended up adopting two none related children and I do not think we would have saved any if they were twins except maybe the dossier. I beleive for Guatemala the cost is pretty close to twice as much. It was for us. Anna

Everyone is right on. The agency may discount (or even waive) fee for second child, but you will still pay the Guatemala fee.

I would guess it would be between $40-$52K for two.

Just going to chime in here

When we adopted two at once the we only saved about 2k in fees (homestudy fees, some fingerprinting, some dossier fees, etc....) The attorney and country fees are per child. Sorry

Take Care!!

Two for us was also double -- slight break on agency fee. Just the agency fees and country fees were at the 50K mark but there are many other fees to consider as well. I think it would be safe to plan for 60-70K.
