Hi Donna,

First let me say have a great trip, enjoy your baby and have fun!!! We went to Guatemala when our daughter was 8 months old. I brought some soft musical toys. I think sassy toys makes some nice ones. I also found some soft musical books that where easy to pack. If you are staying at the Marriott they have a great adoption room with lots of toys and nice people to hang out with.
Enjoy!!!!

Donna, Have a great trip and take lots of pics. My Arely loved toys that were musical or made some sort of noise. Anything that she could put safely into her mouth was great. Sassy does make a great line of toys. Baby Einstein also makes a good line of toys. Good luck. Beside clothes shopping, toy shopping is my favorite thing to do..

We just visited 8 mos old too. DS loved rattles, big plastic keys, fabric scrunchy book that made noise.
And everythng went in the mouth. Also we took many different teething rings. We would set a few different things out and have him reach and try to get them.
Have fun,
TLC

One thing that all babies love and is easy to pack is a cheap beach ball..... Bryce still loves to watch as we play catch and "accidently" drop it... Bubbles are still a favorite of hers too...

Fabric books were a great hit at this age and less damage is done to them by the constant chewing than the board books!

Hi Donna, I don't have any advice (we don't even have our referral yet!), but I wanted to send best wishes for a great trip! I know you'll have a wonderful time!

Jim and I really enjoyed meeting you at the picnic. Have a great trip, and tell us all about it when you get back! Enjoy!

Hi - Have a blast! I'll be thinking of you!

Take bubbles for sure and all things that can go in the mouth! Books are wonderful to get them used to being read to. I took books that could go in the mouth as well.

Can't wait to hear about your trip! God bless!

You may want to take a package of the plastic "links" to attach toys together and to high chairs and strollers. They help to keep things "conatined". Also , I loved the beach ball idea. teething toys are a good option too.
(Our Anna loved those fluid filled "rings" at our 6 month visit and again at 10 months).

Have fun with your baby!

Thumbs up

Soft plush animals that Rattles, Crinkle or makes noises, are great if it has a Mirror a bonus. Anything to help to stimulate the child will work. The soft plush feel is also enjoyed. These are easily packed (squished) into a suitcase and are reasonably priced <$15. Leave with your child to enjoy. No need to get high tech, any soft toy will be a pleasure to your babe, and no batteries are necessary. They live simple and basic, similar to the 1950's here.

For items that are easy to pack, our son loves bubbles and this toy plastic cell phone that makes sounds and lights up when you push the buttons.

Enjoy your trip!
