We are home!!!! (x-posted)
We got home Wednesday around 4:30 pm. Our pick up trip was awesome!!!! We had the best time at the Marriott. We met so many families there, more visiting than picking up it seemed, but everyone was so happy to be with their children. I just can't begin to tell you how wonderful it was. We hardly spent anytime in our room because we were so busy having meals, hanging out in the lobby, lounge, or up in the baby room with other families. It is so nice to talk to people where no explanation is needed when talking about PA, PGN, DNA, FC, etc.. It is also interesting to find out what agencies other families are using and how their experiences have been. We met Cindy(Waiting4Celeste), her husband Matt and beautiful daughter Celeste while we were down there. We did a little shopping with them at a couple stores near the hotel (this was an adventure), and we also went with them to the HandiCrafts Market near the zoo. We also met Candy and her precious daughter Kya Blu. She is so sweet, and is really like the social director of the Marriott for adoptive parents Hi Cindy and Candy!!! Did I say what a great time we had. I would highly highly reccommend the Marriott.
Now the best part of the whole trip, finally getting our daugther Keira. She is beautiful, smiley and very calm. Only fussy when she wants a bottle. Cindy can attest to this as I think the first time she heard her fuss was the day before we left. Her foster mom brought her to the hotel Saturday morning and she was dressed so beautifully. She immediately smiled when she saw us, and melted our hearts. The goodbye was sad, but the foster mom just teared up a little, but didn't cry. If she had started, I would have joined in because I was on the verge of tears myself. The Embassy appt the next day was a breeze, and we were out by 8:20 am. Keira came home on an IR-3 Visa and the Embassy didn't ask for any additional paperwork. There were only around 10 or 11 families for our 7:15 appt time. Miriam, who took us to the Embassy, said she has noticed less PINK appts lately because of the slow down in PGN. Tuesday our attorney came to the Marriott (we met him on the visit trip too) to pick up his check for the 2nd half of the attorney fee. He also congratulated us and wished us well. Miriam dropped Keira's VISA off at the hotel that afternoon, so all we had left to do was pack. I am so grateful for all the support I have had on this forum and for our agency for our relatively smooth process even with all the changes going on down in Guatemala. I hope and pray that each of you waiting right now will be experiencing the wonderful joy of bringing your children home really soon. Here are some pictures from our trip

Congratulations! I was looking at the pictures and trying to place where I had seen you all before. We met at Telma's House in February. We were there picking up our son. We're so happy to see that you are home now. Keira has gotten so big!

Thanks everybody. It is truly wonderful to be at home with our little angel.
Jen I do remember meeting you and your husband at Telma's House. Your son is so cute!!! It's funny that you say she is so big, because she really is a tiny little thing. The pictures make her look a lot bigger than she really is. She is only 13lbs at 6 months, but I guess the camera adds 10 lbs. LOL I hope to see many more happy homecoming posts soon.
