Yup! The only thing more fattening then waiting for my kids to come home, is having them home!

Reading these posts make me feel better. I have gained 7 lbs since we started the process..and i had about 8-10 to loose to begin with....so i have deciding to sign up for a 5K run (3.1 miles) . I am athlete but have never been a runner..the most i have ever run was 1 mile and that was about 7 years ago....signing up for this race has forced me to excercise as i will not dare run the race and not be prepared...even though i only gave mysoef 2 weeks to train..,ugh BUT...i am already up to 2 miles and shooting for 2.5 tonight!!!!!!

Well, let's see. I didn't lose weight while waiting for my son and I am SURE NOT losing weight while waiting for my daughter. I DID lose 7 pounds when he first came home- probably more uptightedness and stress at being a new mom. HOWEVER, ALAS, now that I am a stay at home mom, I have gained 10 pounds. I am currently on a "diet"- but since I started, the scale said I gained two pounds. That is NOT THE KIND OF DIET I MEANT!! hahahaha! What the heck.

DH says its the old dilemma- fat and happy or skinny and cranky. Hmmm

I gained 20 pounds while waiting to bring home our son. We used to joke that I had "The boobs that Frosty built" because, almost every day on my lunch break, when I had time to think about our son not being home, I'd go out to Wendy's and eat a Frosty- very cathartic, actually. But, after I got settled in when our son got home, I got back into my routine and lost the 20 pounds! It took me several months hard work to get if off but I don't know I could have made it through without my daily Frosty so maybe it was worth it after all
Hopefully this second adoption process won't rekindle the flame for Frosty. . .

I'm so glad that I'm not alone!
25lbs! It was initially trying to get pregnant and then I would get depressed b/c I was not "in the mood" b/c I felt fat! Now, it's dossier documents and waiting....

Keeping your weight in check is sooooo hard! I lost abou 30 pounds last year do to weight gain because of a medication I was on, after I dropped the weight I vowed I'd never battle the bulge again and stayed relentless about my work outs which included running 3-5 miles a day and some weight training. Well about 12 weeks ago I was in Aruba and I tore the ligament in my foot which of course meant no more running and let me tell you, battle I did! I was out of training for about 8 weeks until the foot healed and now I'm slowly working my way back up to the level I was at but it's still an everyday struggle. I've learned not to weigh myself and let the way my clothes fit be the true judge of wear I'm at, but I still have a few pounds to loose. I don't let cookies into the house and I stock up on fresh fruit if I do need to munch, but mostly I find pounding out my adoption frustrations on the pavement or treadmill to be very theraputic!

Hi
I gained 45 lbs before and during Ana's adoption..I did the Newman-Goldfarb protocol (induced lactation) and was on a high dose birth control pill and domperidone for 7 months..went from a size 4 to a 16..then pumped every 2 hours round the clock for about a year..I got swollen ankles as well and my right one never went down! I lost some of it but probably gained it back by now..oh well..
