I Was Wondering If There Was Anyone With Pre-school Children Living In The South/southwest Suburbs Of Chicago Interested In Starting Some Type Of Playgroup. Thanks

I used to live in the Southwest suburbs. I now live in the Western Suburbs and my DD is only 2. I would love to get together with other familes that have adopted from Guatemala though. A Chicago group is needed.

I used to live in Beverly...and still get to the burbs a few times a year (now we are in MD). I hope you are able to get a group started...we have one here and it is great!

Hi from Jody, adoptee from the Chicagoland area and facilitator of a group that meets monthly at my church- Adoptees, Birth Parents and Adoptive Parents.(Has been meeting 8 years ) A great group, friendly and representing the entire adoption triad. If anyone would love to be amongst adult adoptees that share their adoption journeys and welcome adoptive parents to the group- come visit ours! Our group focus is seeing adoption from all perspectives. We have a diversity in our group with many attendees from the closed adoption system of decades past and also persons navigating open adoption. What a great perspective. We meet the 3rd Thursday of every month ( year round ) from 7:00pm-til 9:00pm at Faith Evangelical Covenant Church on Rt. 56 (Butterfield Rd.) in Wheaton IL, across from Herrick Lake Forest Preserve, and down the road from Arrowhead Country Club. We are on the same Rd. (Butterfield Rd) as Oakbrook shopping Center and Yorktown Shopping center are- Easy to find. For directions go to

Hope a Play group will be organized in the Chicagoland area- I wish my adoptive parents had those options- not heard of decades ago- so do embrace these opportunities to get together with other adoptive families!
