No experience with that, but just wanted to say that I'm sorry and I hope it gets cleared up quickly! We actually had a really good experience with the Baltimore office -- I believe there is a lady you can call and talk to -- Jean or Jeanie? Hope this gets straightened out ASAP!

Mine got lost too. My agency just sent another one, so it wasn't a big deal. Except the USCIS didn't bother to notify anyone until my agency called on the status of my file. Then they claimed they didn't realize it was lost and thought it had never been sent, even though my agency had called before for status reports and had talked to the director previously. I also had problems with the fingerprint appt with them. Not a helpful agency.

Yes, my homestudy was lost in the San jose office. My agency talked with CIS and found out they lost the homestudy. So the agency overnighted another copy of it. They called again to follow-up and were told it was lost again!
The agency rep then spoke with a CIS supervisor who found the homestudy. A week ago Thurday they told my agency that they mailed the approval, but I didn't receive it until yesterday. It doesn't take a week to get from their office to my house which is only 20 minutes away. The postmark was 6 days after they said they mailed it. Oh well - I am happy to have it now!! And I am glad to have an agency that is so proactive! |

Our 171-H came 8 days after submitting our Homestudy to Baltimore CIS. We had our fingerprints done approximately 3 months prior so they were back by the time the Homestudy was submitted.
I would just ask your SW to submit another copy of the Homestudy so you don't have to worry about whether they find it or not. Either way, the process is very quick in Baltimore provided your fingerprints have had enough time to be processed. |

I called the agency and LM thanks! I assume we now have to do the same w/this homestudy, just have it notorized right? or can I just get a hand signed one from the agency without the notary and hand deliver the thing. SO confused and leaving on thurs for Guat. Last thing I need.
