I'm new here-an introduction
Hi! My name is Tam. I'm a 42 y/o single woman who very much wants a baby. I'm very new at this and am just beginning to look into adoption from Guatemala. I just called to register to attend an informational meeting at the end of June and am very excited about it. I've been reading through the threads trying to learn as much as I can, and what to expect, from the process. I hope I can learn a great deal from you on this journey!

Welcome to the group. A good web site that explains Guatemalan adoptions is Guatadopt.com
Feel free to ask any questions. Just so you know, you don't have to use an adoption agency in your state. You do for your home study, but not the adoption.

Welcome to the forum.
If you do sign with an agency ,my best advice is to seek out as many clients using the agency as possible. I sure wish I would have.

above all when chosing an agency you have to chose an agency that is right for YOU and YOU alone. Get opinions from others is helpful but remember what their needs are may be different from yours. I researched for many months before signing with an agency and I absolutely love the one I chose, I started with a list of about 20-25 narrowed it down to 3 then chose one of those that worked best for me. Most offer the same services but differ slightly and those are the reasons I chose my agency. NOT popularity.

I am fairly new on the forum too. I want to welcome you. I have been reading the forum for months and just registered. We have our little girl from Guatemala about 1 month now.
You will love this website. There is tons of great information!! Tons of support. I should have registered when I was in the middle of my adoption. I didn't discover this site until the end. So be glad you are on here from the beginning. Everyone is so helpful and so nice. Good luck! Karen

Please go outside, put your left finger on the tip of your nose, wave your right hand in the air, and run around your house singing "I am a maniac.."
