Question..
Is there a difference between the ** meeting with the SW and the ** hearing? Can someone tell me the difference?

I'm not sure I can help you with any anwsers. We are waiting for our DNA authorization as well. I know that when you are entered into family court the sw will interview the birthmom and then submit their information to a court....possibly that is called a hearing...not sure. Anyway I think after those 2 things you are approved you will be out of family court.

It is all abit confusing and this is our second time!!

Thanks Brie!! I appreciate it so much. I know that the Birth Mother's interview with the SW was scheduled for 5-9-06. I was worried that maybe she didn't show up for the interview with the SW. So, my update yesterday said, that "the birthmother's hearing and DNA test will be done this week" I was curious if the hearing and the SW Interview were 2 different things? My concern was maybe she didn't show up for the SW interview??

I'd say the social worker's interview and the birth mother's hearing are the same thing, just worded different ways, so I'd say the interview and the DNA test are scheduled for this week. I don't know of any actual hearings the birth mother's regularly have to go to.
