Poem Amanda wrote...for me!! It is so sweet
We had a mother daughter banquet at our church Saturday and Amanda suprised me and wrote a poem for me. She cried the whole time she read it....anyway here it is.
I've told you before, but I'll tell you again Your the light in my life from beginning to end. From the smile on your face to the grin on your cheek your truly a blessing while very unique. When God put us together around a year ago I knew right then I could never let you go. As each day passes more and more I realize whom I truly love and adore No one makes me laugh, smile, and happy as you do And for that I want to say thank you! Your a true blessing that I plan to keep So, sorry it looks as if your stuck with me for eternity. I've told you before, and I'll tell you again you, Beth are the light in my life from beginning to end. I love you, Happy Mothers Day!

That is beautiful. If I remember correctly, you have been dealing with a lot of problems involving Amanda. I would say you are doing a lot right!

Thanks everyone. I do love this child. Yes we have dealt with some issues but I know that alot of the teenagers out there are alot worse than she is.
I guess when you move at the age of 15 and your whole world is turned around it is hard to deal with. Especially when there are totally different morals in this house than what was at her moms. There are curfews here she never had that before. Boys don't sleep here. They did there. So, there have been alot of changes in her life. Beth

For someone who is not your daughter, it sounds as if she knows that the rules you are setting down for her are needed. I can now see why you had such a hard time figuring out what kind of punishment to dole out this weekend.

Beth,
It sounds like you and your husband are doing Amanda a world of good, and she truly appreciates it. Children do need and want boundaries, no matter how much they protest. It's good that she is finally getting what she needs by being in your home.
