How long is wait for 171 after HS is submitted? Our SW sent ours today, but no one has any idea how long they are taking. Had fingerprints done weeks ago. Thanks so much, Lisa in MS

I used the USCIS office in Memphis a few months back. We were figerprinted at the beginning of December and didn't receive the I-171H until mid to late February. It seemed very long to us and I am not the most patient person.

Luckily for us, our agency sent the remaining parts of our Dossier through the authentication process even before we received the I-171H. This meant that we received a referral very soon after receiving our 171H.

FYI - I'm in MS too. (Olive Branch)

I don't know if their timeline has shortened but, this was my experience.

the memphis cis office is notoriously slow.
i have the telephone number of the orphan unit.
if yur case takes longer than average, it may help to give them a call.

We used the Memphis office and it took three months with Sydney (during the Christmas holidays) and 2 months with Greenlee. It was not to bad of a wait because we did it before we started collecting the paper work for our dossier. By the time that was done we only waited a couple of weeks for the I-171H.

We used the Memphis USCIS office and it took two weeks to receive our I-171H after the homestudy was sent. We had our fingerprinting done the day after the homestudy was sent. Our fingerprinting was done around the middle of March and we received our I-171H on March 29. Good Luck with the rest of your adoption.
