Talking Copy all Documents!

Just a quick note to those of you starting your adoption journey. We adopted our first daughter domestically and are waiting to be out of PGN for our new son Lucas. With both adoptions we scanned all documents, made them pdf files, and kept them on a back-up cd. We broke down and bought Adobe Professional which turns any bitmap or jpg into a pdf file. As my husband says a lot smaller and easier to work with. When we were compiling our dossier documents this especially came in handy when our agency lost my husband's international birth certificate. Since they knew they had caused the error they renotarized a copy of his birhcertificate we had scanned onto our computer. This also happened one time with our domestic adoption. It was a life-saver to have all the documents backed-up. We now scan all documents to be completed and print them out if we make a mistake and need a new form. We also scan all signed documents like I-600 forms, reference letters, and even our pictures. Just an idea...http://forums.adoption.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Yep, it's very useful!!!!!!!- I've done the same, too, though I prefer to safeguard the originals too!!!!!!Because, you can't get the originals back!!!!!!!-- But, it's certainly a lifesaver, when you need something at short notice!!!!!!

I've done the same and yep, I've had to regenerate duplicate docs in a hurry on two occasions. You can't be too overly cautious with this process...
