Well, the agency did finally give us the proof we need to add Isabel to insurance. I know I should be happy but they did promise us they would get this for us and then gave us a great deal of hassle (we did wait patiently for this for 3 weeks with a gentle reminder to them).

The attorney did not pick up the birth certificate last Friday. No reason was given as to why he didn't. Supposedly he was going to pick it up yesterday, but we haven't been told if he actually did. The way things are going, even if he was appropriately quick, I don't think we will have Isabel home for Mother's day.

Please pray for me in the waiting.....I've had a great deal of peace this week, but tonight I am in tears. The way things are going we will be "lucky" if she is home by the time she is 9 mos. on 5/22.

Oh Shelley! I'm so sorry to hear! I can feel your frustration when I read your posts! Hang on! Your baby is worth every moment of this anxiety you're going through! To our lawyers, this is just more paperwork to do....I think they work through so many adoptions they forget there are real and loving people behind the papers...waiting at home for babies! I'm sure you'll get your pink soon! Please hang on!

Oh Shelly - I am so sorry to hear about the problems that you have faced. You are so close to having your sweetheart home. It seems the closer we get, the harder the wait is.

Shelly, what rotten news. I wonder if you and I have the same attorney ! I am not even letting myself think of Mother's Day, because I don't think our peanut will be home for then either. I think on Mother's Day I will find myself a nice place that has drink specials! Do you want to join me?

HANG ON, Ms. Shelly. It'll all work out. I, too, can hear the frustration in your voice. My girlfriend adopted from India and got, basically, two calls from her agency. 1) Here's the referral. Would you like to adopt her? and months later 2) Can you travel next week for pick-up?

I believe that the cloud in the silver lining of those adopting from Guatemala is that we know too much information about the process. And it drives us crazy. Stay sane and stay strong.

I am very very sorry for what you are going through. If it makes you feel any better..... our adoption process has taken 16 months. I know exactly how you are feeling. Just keep thinking about how far you have come. Think about all the hurdles you have crossed. You are very close to the finish line. Don't lose faith.

I'm sorry you're having to wait so long, Shelly. I remember those long, very long weeks when you SHOULD have already been there (waited 2 1/2 mos AFTER PGN). I hated Thursday because that meant another week we wouldn't be going....

But hang on-- it will happen. A friend of my Mom's who adopted from Colombia years ago gently reminded me one day that she will come home at exactly the right time-- God's. And I knew that was true, but oh so hard to live like I actually believed it.
