Jesus The waiter
I got this from a good friend and I feel that it applys to many people. I hope it does not offend those who would rather not read about religion.I hope I have not broken any forum rules.
Enjoy Psa. 27:14 Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord. Jesus, the Waiter _________________________ Before the Foundations of the World, Jesus was there with his Father and knew the very day that He would send him to the cross of calvary to die for the sins of the world, but Jesus had to wait! Our dear Saviour would not enter into the world he would die for until he could be born in the manger at Bethlehem so He had to wait for Mary to be born, for Joseph to be born and all the generations that came before them to be born! He waited for certain Shepherds to be in the field, for the Three wisemen to make their journey, for the Inn to be full, for the Eastern Sky to be filled with the Star whose light shone the way to Him! Jesus was born at just the right time of history and he knew from a very tender age that He must be about His Father`s bussiness. but he would find himself waiting 30 more years before His earthly ministry would begin! He had to wait to call his chosen disciples , for Lazarus to come forth, for Mary and Martha to doubt him, for the Storm to brew so it could be calmed, for Peter to meet him for a walk on the water, for the last supper and all through Jesus` earthly ministry he knew that the cross of calvary awaited him, but he also knew that He had to wait for the cross! He had to wait on Judas to betray him, for Peter to deny him, for the cock to crow thrice, for even for Cyrus to be asked to carry that old rugged cross! Jesus had so many things he had to wait for and yet He waited obediently so that HIS Father could be Glorified in all things! Cross day came! Jesus died! but the waiting was not over yet! Jesus went to his grave knowing that he would rise and live forever but His Father said wait three days before you rise again!!!!! And Jesus waited! But the waiting was not over yet! Jesus rose again knowing He would be seated at the right hand of the Father but His Father said wait!!! Wait forty days before you ascend to Me!!!! In love, Jesus waited because He knew the reward that went with the wait! But the waiting was not over yet! Now seated at the right hand of the Father, Jesus waits! He is waiting for you and for me to be presented to him as a spotless bride! Waiting for those who are lost to be found in Him. Waiting for those who are living in sin to repent and be restored by Him. Jesus is still waiting........ Have you ever prayed "Lord, help me to be more like you???" Then don`t be surprized if you find yourself waiting! We can not be more like Him, until we taste his sufferings, his joys, his waiting! If you find yourself Waiting......Think what a waiter Jesus was and is and be blessed that you have been given the opportunity to become more like Him! There are great rewards in waiting! But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 Never overlook the blessing of waiting! Be encouraged! Be Strengthened! Be Renewed!

I am thankful for the old rugged cross...
Thank for this reminder of how Jesus waited ever so patiently even in the face of adversity.
May we all draw upon His strength and look to Him to give us the patience we need through the ever changing, unpredictable process. Laura Jean (who has accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and never regretted a moment of it!)  PS-Thank you for this thread!

thank you for sharing this. The verse about the eagles wings was one I drew on all the time when I started homeschooling and was part of my adoption journey.

Thank you for posting this! Just this morning at Bible study, we were talking about lessons that God seems to be teaching you over and over. For me, that lesson is patience! It's good to remember that Jesus had to wait too!
