We're home.
And it feels so good. It was great being with my daughter in Guatemala for 3 days waiting for paperwork to clear. And I certainly liked having someone clean my room and bathroom and take out the garbage and clean up the dinner table mess but I was itching to get home.
Little Sweetness is sleeping soundly and I am catching up on 'stuff'. Sorry I don't have any photos to post. I don't have a digital camera. My brother took photos at the airport so if I can figure out how to post one of those I certainly will do so. She's 18 mos. old now and broke the hearts of strangers all through Guatemala and Dallas and Chicago. My little girl is a charmer! Nothing eventful re: embassy appointment and what not. It was an exhausting and exhilirating trip. Last night was rough for her because I live in the heart of the city near the touristy area. Too much noise! I rarely notice it but we both did last night. Just as she was about to fall asleep an ambulance or cop car or boisterous drinker made a loud noise and she was full throttle again - screaming because she was beyond, way way beyond, tired. She probably only got 5 hours of sleep last night so . . . it'll take a bit for us to get into a routine. I can't tell you all how happy I am that it is all over. I hope you all follow shortly. I didn't cry when I saw her (toooo tired and not expecting to have her brought to the hotel on the night of my arrival at 9pm), didn't cry at the embassy, but I cried like a big fat baby when her passport and immigration documents were delivered to the hotel. It was at that point I knew it was all over. I hated the whole process. Hated. It. I can't imagine ever going through it again. Kudos to all of you how have the strength to do so. I love my little girl and we're a family as is.
