Our agency sent us the list but I can tell you a few things you will need...some that I am sure you already know:

BC's
Marriage License (sighed by JUDGE not clerk or courts)
HIV test and medical clearence letter from DR
Passports (copy and notorize)
Witness statements
Letter of employment
Reference Letters
Name affadavit
HMMMMM.....
I can't think of anything else off the top..depending on where you live you can submit the I600a. Nearly everything has to be notorized. My agency sent us a HUGE packet with great explanations pertaining to each form and also samples of everything. Some stuff is hard to do without seeing those examples. Good luck!

Each agency has different requirements. Like mine didn't require a lot of what the above person mentioned. You really can't get started much until you sign w/ the agency. You can get BC's etc..but that you pretty much have to have for your homestudy anyways. The agencies are all very specific. They provide all the form letters for the witness statement, medical letters, etc.

Each agency is diff. in their requirements and they are very specific in their form letters and how things are said. You are better to start once you've chosen an agency so you aren't having to do it over again.

Please remember a few very important points when collecting documents for your dossier...

1. Make sure that the documents are LESS THAN one year old from date of issue. Also - for really important docs such as the marriage/birth certs - get more than one!!!

2. Make sure that any notary that notarizes your documents has a commission expiration GREATER THAN one year past the date they notarize. (important for PGN)

3. Make sure that you start getting photocopies made prior to getting to the next step for the document. (i.e - state/county seals and Guat authentications...) This helps to alleviate the stresses of staples, etc. Make sure that signatures are LEGIBLE. Even if it's a departure from someone's typical signature - make sure it's LEGIBLE.

I would strongly encourage you to wait until you are at the point of the homestudy prior to assembling original documents. This ensures that they are new. This also ensures that you have someone available to check your docs before they go on for seals and authentication. Costs money and time to redo a doc.
