I'M HERE sarareding89
Wow, I cannot believe how incredibly busy my life has been. We got back from Guat last Thursday. I finally sat down and wrote up a new thread ((((BUT)))) the cable internet place shut down right when I was going to post it!!!! I didn't have time to retype everything at that time, so I sat down again a few days ago and typed up our story again ((((BUT)))) I couldn't get any of our pictures to post. I've never had a problem with this before and I didn't want to write up how our pick-up trip went until I could post pictures with it. (Lisa I forgot to ask you at our school party for advice). I will keep trying to post those pics.
We had a chance to meet up with walnutmeg and her husband and Kaya while we were down there. What are the odds---we both work together, we both had our visit trips on the same week in November AND we both had our pick-up trips at the same time. None of this was planned ahead of time. That's just crazy! I LOVED seeing them while we were there though. We were told not to leave the hotel while we were there and it got VERY boring (we stayed at the Clarion). Gabriella is wonderful!! She ran right to us when she saw us in the lobby. She did so well at the Embassy and getting up at 4:00 a.m. to catch our flight. She is doing so great at home also. We have no problems with her going to bed at night. She just lays down in her bed and says "Noche" and falls right to sleep. I didn't think it would be this easy. I'm still waiting for some attachment issues or something to come up. It does seem, though that her eating habits have changed. She loved her "leche" in Guatemala, but we can't get her drink it here. She also won't touch cheese, which she just loved in Guat also. Do they use goats milk for these thing? Anyway, life is wonderful right now!! Our decision to adopt came Christmas Eve 2003. I used to love celebrating Christmas by decorating so nicely for my kids and spending such quality time with them, but they're all grown up now (18 and 23) and they were spending Christmas with their father. I was just so emotional that night and I remember my husband turning to me and saying, "Why don't we adopt?" I was like, "What? We don't know how to adopt!!" Well we sat there most of the night and thought about this and I mean REALLY thought about it. I didn't get any sleep at all that night. I just kept thinking about what he said, and then by morning it had all sunk in. The very next week we began this incredible, wonderful, emotional journey. We are so blessed to have experienced this. I thank God everyday for it!!! I will continue to pray for everyone! I am still a little in shock that Gabriella is OUR daughter now. For everyone in investigation---they are horrible--BUT in the end you WILL come home with your child!!! Hang in there!!! I will try those pictures again!!!!!!!!!!
