Anyone have their child escorted home?

My husband and I chose to use the escort option for our child. Has anyone used that option recently?

We're having our child escorted due to some concerns with my husband's work (and truthfully....I'm afraid to fly....but I could probably deal with that eventually ).

I look forward to hearing your opinions and how this decision worked well or didn't work well for you.

Thank you!

I did twice but that was 10 and 12 years ago. Things were dangerous in Guatemala at that time. I know that you can have them escorted home. But if there is anyway you can go visit there, I highly recommend it. Guateamala is breath taking. Good luck. If I can help you with anything, PM me.. Happy Easter

Hi, we had our son escorted last May...........it is so hard to believe that his one year family day is almost here. If it does not look like you will be able to travel to bring your child home, maybe you will be able to take a family trip to Guatemala in the future. It is a beautiful country. We traveled to bring our daughter home in 2002. We would have gone to bring our son home as well, but 9 months prior we experienced a horrid loss while in GC. We chose to have our son escorted so that when he joined our family we would think of nothing else but the joy we felt. I was afraid that a trip to GC so soon would stir up too much pain and take something away from our sweet boys family day. If i can help with any questions please feel free to pm me.

escort

We had our daughter escorted at 2 1/2 in June of 2005. I did not visit. We sent her a picture book with spanish captions. One of the pictures was our son with a teddy bear then I sent the teddy bear. She came right up to us at the airport, saying Mama, Papa and Micheal. She has adjusted very well.

We went to Guatemala to pick up our first daughter but we just had our baby daughter (10 months) escorted home last Tuesday. It was a very good experience. It is nice to be able to visit Guatemala but I don't regret the decision I made to have her escorted. She has adjusted well and it was an easy trip for everyone. Hope that helps. PM me if you have further questions.

Barbara

We have the plans set to do an escort due to family issues. However we so want to go so we are considering it.
I have also heard it was about a month longer if you have an escort. Would people say that is about right?
I just don't think I am going to be able to wait an extra month!!!!!

hmmm...

Our agency never mentioned a difference in the time frame due to using an escort. I'll check on that.
