Attachment info for families/friend?
Does anyone have info for families and friends on attachment and the transition home? I would like to give them something preferably before Isabel comes home as so many of them are anxious to see her and hold her, etc. I would love something written by someone other than myself to give it some authority, but don't want to recommend they read a whole book. I would rather educate them now than to have conflict/stress later.

I guess I'm looking for a 1-2 pages summary which explains attachment disorder, but also the transition home and what the extended family should expect - like not holding the baby, etc. My side of the family is very educated on this as I have 2 adopted sisters who are recovering from severe attachment disorder. My dh's side of the family, however, is in the dark. My SIL keeps asking if we know our travel dates because she wants to come visit as soon as we are home - yikes! The anticipation of this is stressing my out - I mean, we really might not be up for this. Isabel will already be getting used to a large family - I certainly don't want to add extra stress to the transition. Thanks!

FINALLY AFTER 4 MONTHS! 9/13 in PGN 11/6 OUT OF PGN!!!  11/9 Passport for Giancarlo obtained 12/9/2006 HOME FOREVER!

Can you just tell your family that for bonding purposes it's important that you limit visitors and not have anyone else hold the baby for a period of time when you get home? They may not like it, but if you tell them that it's what's best for the baby they'll understand.
