I just learned I was submitted for pink. I know the embassy is shut down until Monday, but what do you think: should I book a flight to arrive on Sunday 4/24. Doesn't that sound reasonable? What do you think?

Also, how does one email the embassy?

COngratulations! that's awesome and I can imagine how desperate you are to be with your baby. My recommendation is to wait to have the PINK slip to travel. You don't know what could happen in between and then your stay could be longer than you expect. Also if you receive PINK next week probably the Embassy appointment is going to be the very next week.

If you have the money for that go ahead and have some time before with your baby. If not I think is too soon to fly before not having a PINK date.

Congrats on being submitted for pink. I also would wait until you know the exact date to book your flight. . .unless you are really prepared to be there waiting. It's hard to predict your embassy date. Anyway, enjoy the excitement. . . .knowing you will be in Guatemala soon.

It would be reasonable if the Embassy was issuing PINK 48 business hours after submission, but it seems they've been taking longer than that - more like 4 business days. Do you know what day you were submitted? I would be anxious to book flights as well.

I was told I was submitted on the 10th. I know everyone advises against going down before pink but I'm leaving a big window. I really don't see it as a big risk. If they open up on the 17th and I arrive on the 24, that's 5 business days later. If they usually issue in 48 hours it would almost have to be that next Monday (24th) or Tuesday (25th), right?

I know this isn't what you want to hear and you would probably be OK,but you're assuming that you will get PINK on Monday, the 17th. It seems PINK has been taking longer than 48 hours and then the appt. is a week out from that. Your appt. might not be until Wed. or Thurs. Also, what if there was an error on a document? this would definitely delay PINK. I feel for you as I would love book tickets as well, but I do think it is safer to wait a little whiel longer to book tickets. I met a family in Jan. who travelled before PINK and ended up staying at the Marriott for 7 weeks while documents errors were fixed.

That's wonderful! Congratulations! I hope you hear something soon about Pink.

This is just an estimate from our agency, but we are hoping to be submited for Pink next week and she estimated our appointment the last of April, first of May.
Obviously, there are things that can happen that can change the usual timelines though.

We had made arrangements to stay in an apartment in Antigua for the rest of our wait and so we are traveling 4/19. The city we live in does not have a very big airport and so there aren't many flight options and we are traveling with our sons so we had to book somewhat in advance to make sure we could get a good flight with seats together.

Have a safe trip whenever you decide to travel!

I know this is not what you want to hear but I would wait to you got the date unles you have the finances to possibly stay longer then you planned. I know the waiting is hard. We were submitted for pink in Jan. but had problems that werenot reolved until March. Had we gone on when we thought the appontment would have been we would have been there almost 2 months. congratulations on being submitted for pink!!!!
