What do you do with your toddler when it's hot outside?

Hi All,

Here in AZ the weather is about to get HOT. Our little guy is 17 months old and he adores going to the park and anything he can do outside. What do you do with your toddler when it's hot or just not nice to be outdoors?

Cheers!
Susan

I live in Florida. I plan to take my son to the indoor playground at my local mall or at McDonalds when it is too hot to go outside.

Children's museums, library storytelling times, sharing playdates at another toddler's house...are all things you can do in summer months.

For the times you do want to get him out...cover him in sunscreen and think water sports! Sprinklers are great fun with little ones.

Talking baby pool!

Try a baby pool with lots of splash friendly toys...and don't forget the big floppy hat, sunglasses and lemonade....and maybe the baby would enjoy that too! HEE HEE ..just teasing!

Swim.. we have a pool so for us its easy. Do you have a neighborhood pool or an apartment complex nearby with a pool? Damian hated the pool until I got him a float. Now he loves it.

I second indoor play grounds. Also the golden arches and such have pretty nice playgrounds and will cost less. Take naps in the afternoon and swim in the evening a tnight and go to bed later. Anna

thanks for all the great ideas!

It's so much fun to get out and play - I'm just not that great at finding new things to do. I'm kind of a I-love-my-routine type of person. Of-course our "routine" now changes as per the whims of my son, but I wouldn't have it any other way

Thanks again!
Susan

give them the garden hose

And make sure they are wearing a bathing suit. My son and his friends loved watering everything with the garden hose. THe plants, grass, etc, and ultimately themselves. THey could do it for hours!!!
