It's a match!! And a question????
Yay - got my DNA results back today and it's a match!!! But, I do have to say, it was kinda sad to see his birth mother looking so sad - and that leads to my question.
I noticed her birthday - she was ALMOST 18 when she delivered him. So now my question (probably a stupid one) - I remember reading about PGN requiring an interview with the birth grandparents if the Birth mother is a minor - 1. Do they define "minor" the same way we do, under 18. and 2. How much time is that "typically" adding to the process? TIA

oh, I have lots of experience with this! Yes, your birthmom is considered a minor if she's under age 18. It means they'll look at her birth certificate and any parents listed on their will also have to give THEIR consent which can get sticky if one or the other is no longer around. Also, yes, PGN will require her to come in for an interview with them also. She'll be interviewed by the psychologist I believe. When does your birthmother turn 18? If soon, perhaps you will be able to sidestep all this?

Yippeeeee! 8/18/06 FINALLY IN PGN 8/25/06 ooops....our mistake! NOT in PGN!  9/4/06 Okay! NOW we're IN PGN! 12/19/06 OUT OUT OUT of PGN! Thank you SOOOOOO MUCH!  1/10/07 new birth certificate issued 1/17/07 PINK!!! Appt is 1/23/07 Thank you God!  Finally home in Kentucky! 1/29/07

Actually, she was just under 18 when she delivered him and (since he turned 15months yesterday) now she is 19 - could that help? Is it the age at PGN or the age at relinquishment?
