Moving states during an adoption?

Anyone on the board have experience in what happens if you move to a new state during the course of your adoption? We're doing our adoption independently and I'm wondering what will happen when/if we move to a new state in the midst of the process (after 171 has been given but before you bring the kiddo home). I'm assuming I will need a new homestudy from the new state in order to complete the process. Anyone have any first hand experience?

I moved from Illinois to Maryland during my adoption last year. If you move after referral, it's no big deal. You don't have to update your homestudy. If you move before referral, you have to update your homestudy in your new state. My agency also told me not to sell my old house until we were out of PGN, so you might want to check with your agency on that.

Thanks Bexter. THe CIS didn't expect you to have a new home study to match the state you were going to? Or did you guys list your old address that you still owned when you went for the pick up trip?

I listed my old address. But frankly, I don't think it matters much. Just check with your agency.
