Another dossier question

I thought I had everything for my dossier but looked over my letters for the millionth time before sending them off and realized that my financial letter from our bank talks about only our checking account. We do have a savings account but it is one of those on-line savings places that I imagine will be a nightmare to get a notarized letter from.

Bottom line: do you think a bank letter stating we have a checking account in good standing but not mentioning a savings account will be a problem?

Thanks!

As long as your previous taxes indicates you earned 125% above the poverty level you should be fine. Our money market account was left off, along with some of our stock holdings. But since our income was well over the 125% guideline, our agency said it didn't really matter.

In our homestudy it states that we have a savings account but our statement from the bank for our Dossier was from our checking account. They told us to have the statement written on whichever account was the highest.

I got notarized letters for 4 out of my 6 accounts. Two banks flat out refused to do it, said it was against their legal department's policy and they wouldn't budge on it. My agency said they enounter this all the time unfortunately, and as long as the letters I got for the four accounts proved I had ample resources to provide for the child, original bank statements for the other two accounts would be fine and they've never encountered a problem with this. PGN or whomever would put the most weight on the notarized letters, the other two statements would just be considered "extras". I had to attach notarized affidavits signed by myself that they were original statements as received from the bank so I could send them to be authenticated with the others.

we sent all of them...but the real financial issues are with our embassy. and all of your assets should be on your taxes. that is what they looked at. and we just had to bring the latest bank statement. for the dossier, I would think the checking acct should be fine.

Shouldn't matter if there isn't any indication on the letter that you have more than one. We have accounts with three or four institutions (my husband is a banker!) and only included info from one. The big thing for us (per our agency) was that the account had to have the monthly balance for each of the past 12 months and a statement that the account was in good standing. We had to have that one redone since the initial only had the current balance. Good luck-- we ended up switching to a small local bank after our experiences.

I think this is very agency specific - we did not even have to have a letter from our bank for our dossier. In reviewing many different agencies dossier requirements they all have a slightly different twist on things. I would ask your agency what they require. Good luck!
