Please PM me the information as well. While, doing it this year is probably out of the question (we are in HI) we will be in the NH/Maine/Boston area for next year -- 2007 school year -- and would be excited to accept a student! I think this is a wonderful idea.

Also, did you say Charlotte area? My in-laws all live there and my BIL might want info on that area's program as I know that they had a student from France this past summer.
Thanks!
Maura.

In general the Students are 13 -17 I think although I think there were a few younger previously. They usually want them here to start 9th grade for Phase 2. Phase 1 is only learning English (and US culture) for 5 -6 months. Then they return home
until their Phase 2 starts (usually fall enrollment).

Lots more info on the website

AND I think we have several interested in Washington state!! Their goal for the future is to have children all over the US.

thank you everyone for you interest
Jill

What a coincidence! I just spoke with them today, and the founder is coming to our house on Wednesday to talk about it more. We're hoping to host a child too beginning this summer. We're in the RTP area of NC where the founder is located.

Oh Holli make your list of questions I think I had 300. Poor man. But he answered every one of them with good answers. Very well organized,
effective program -- we were so impressed. We
already have 4 teenagers -- one more will just blend in!! When you read about some of these children and what they have been through and still work so hard at their school work and are so determined -- I know we will be blessed just as much by knowing these children.

Let me know if you (or anyone) want me to send you a slide show file --its 7600K and opens in a small window but has more details of the program in it (you'll need a cable internet connection to be able to download) --PM me with your email.
