OT: "Let's go" and chase game
Well, Spencer is getting a little more mischievious. Now, when I say, "Let's go" or "Let's go upstairs"... he takes off for a game of chase. Of course, he thinks it is very funny, and of course, I don't. What is the best way to stop this behavior?
Thanks. |

I don't know how old your son is - by 18 months or so, I was able to count for my sons! I would not go to them, but tell them they need to come to me. I would count to three slowly and if I got to three and they haven't come then there is a consequence. I still use this method a lot with my boys. It is from a book called 1-2-3 Magic!

Ah yes, another page out of my Dog Trainer's Guide to Parenting (yet to actually be written). Instead of chasing a child who is running away, you run in the opposite direct. It doesn't always work (it doesn't with dogs either), but it sure takes the fun out of it.
