Quick help! Does anyone have an HE front load washer??
I put my bleach in the little cup thing in the tray. Only its powder not liquid and it says to use liquid!! Has anyone did this??? Will it all come out okay??
This is why I NEVER use bleach, it always ends in disaster!

Can you just put some water in with the powder and then run the washing machine empty?

Hi Erin,
I have a HE front loader and even though I don't think anything will happen with powder bleach instead of liquid you might want to call the customer service number. Good Luck! Michelle |

Can you just hit the pause button, pull the entire soap tray out, rinse it out in your sink and continue?? I use powdered oxy but I put it in with the liquid soap on the left side and the water flushes it clean -- I believe the right side dispensers work only with liquids because they use some sort of syphon thing.
hope it all works out |

YOu should be OK...but do NOT ever open it if all the water hasn't drained...
...that is a service call. Also a word of caution...when the nice man came & fixed ours (for me opening the door with water still in it ) he found about 6 or 8 *missing* baby socks...they tend to slip down in between the door and that seal thingie that keeps the water from spilling out...he suggested a hoisery bag for baby socks as that can do damage to it too....Glad it seems OK....

I paid the nice service man $70 to come and fix my washing machine and all he did was pull a pair of baby socks out of the drainage pipe. The water wasn't draining and the machine just stopped. I put all the baby sock in a hosiery bag. He said also not to overfill it with water because baby things float and will get sucked out. I was putting in 3/4 water when I only had a 1/2 load because I really like a clean rinse. I've learned my lesson. I just have a regular top load washer btw.

On ours, the detergent cup lifts out. I'm not sure what brand you have, but try lifting it tout.
Oh the joys of front loading washers! We bought a top of the line one when they first came out in 1998. It saved on water and detergent, but the clothes never came clean. We also had a problem with water pooling in the rubber seal between the front door and the drum. If you closed the front door, mold would form inside because the door had an airtight seal. Then we had a run-in with an Italian front-loader on a trip to England. It stopped halfway through the cycle, and no matter what we did, it would not restart. We were in a cottage out in the country and couldn't get anyone to help. We waited it out for a day, to no avail. Then we played with the dials, and it spun and gurgled. I thought it had drained the water and decided to finish the washing in the bathtub. But the front window was so tiny I didn't realize it was full of water. I stupidly opened the door and it it looked like Niagara Falls pouring out of the door. I spent a long time mopping up the mess. Aaargh!!

tooo funny Nancy!!
NJrach- Yeah, its turning out to be not as great as I thought. The ideal thing was that you save water and soap right? Well, water, yes. But now they came out with HE soap that you are suppose to use and that is expensive and you use just as much as regular soap!

HE soap? I wonder what the difference is from regular detergent?
Our wonder washer is now relegated to the garage, for washing blankets and comforters. We ended up buying a cheap top loader. I can soak clothes again, and also add things after the cycle starts. I don't know if your front-loader is this bad, but I ended up tossing all of my husband's work shirts because they would never come out clean. After months of half-washing, they were pitiful-looking. And one spring I washed the winter clothes and stored them in the attic until the fall. When I took out the clothes the next winter, phew!!! I hope you have better luck. You need a good washer when you have a baby.

Huh, my clothes come out clean..... We just bought this one a couple of years ago though...
HE soap is made for the High Efficiancy machines. It doesn't get real sudsy. Apparently, even using a little bit of regular soap isn't the same and it will eventually ruin it. Whether its true or if its a conspiracy with the HE washing machine producers and the soap companys ![]()

I love mine, too... also only one year old, but no problems, and things come out very clean..... It has a 'sensitive skin' extra rinse cylce that I love! (and a cycle for kids clothes that is supposed to be great for getting out anything... havent had the need to use it yet!)
