Just Starting - and Excited
Hello everyone. My husband and I are just starting on our adoption journey. We have filed our I600-A, have been fingerprinted, and have most of our dossier documents together. We have our home study in two weeks.
I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I look forward to rejoycing with all of you in the future.

My hope is to have all of our paperwork submitted by the end of May. In my perfect world we would then be getting our referral sometime this summer.

Jeanne 11/05 decided to switch countries from Ukraine to Guatemala 11/23/05 accepted referral for beautiful baby girl born Nov. 9th. 12/15/05 dossier to Guatemala 1/15/06 DNA matched and we are in Family Court 1/25/06 embassy receives DNA 2/23-2/27 beautiful visit trip! 3/10/06 contacted senator's office about preapproval. 4/21/06 got PREAPPROVAL! Yippeeeee!  8/18/06 FINALLY IN PGN 8/25/06 ooops....our mistake! NOT in PGN!  9/4/06 Okay! NOW we're IN PGN! 12/19/06 OUT OUT OUT of PGN! Thank you SOOOOOO MUCH!  1/10/07 new birth certificate issued 1/17/07 PINK!!! Appt is 1/23/07 Thank you God!  Finally home in Kentucky! 1/29/07

Welcome! It's an amazing journey and this is an amazing place. The journey can be tough but you will meet amazing people, hear amazing stories and feel emotions you never knew existed. And you will end up with a beautiful child.

It sounds like we might also have the same time-line. We also just submitted our I-600A and our agency won't put us on the waiting list until we have all documents for dossier. Then when we are on the waiting list I am told we will have a couple of months to wait for a referral. So hopefully we will all recieve our referrals early this summer! God Bless.

Sounds like you are a little further along then "just" starting. You have a really good start. Congrats. We also are in the paperchase process. We haven't been able to start ofn our dossier because of delays with our loan and we need that money to send in the contract fee. We were able to start the homestudy by using our Tax Return money..Thank you Uncle Sam. LOL Good luck!
