I am 30, and my dh is 29. We are adopting our 4th child. The kicker is the 1st 2, which we adopted last year, are now 11 and 12. They look JUST like us, and we look 25. I can not tell you how many times people have asked our 12 year old, "is that your big brother?" I love the look on their face when he responds, "no, that's my dad!"

Amber, I know what you mean about the cheating thing!! We are young and have lots of tattoos, and you get just tell what people think. Not that we care at all, its just sad that is the most obvious assumption.
One lady that use to work with dh came up to us after Meeah came home and said "oh! Is that your daughter?" dh said yep and she said "I could tell, she looks just like you!" Well, then, HE was the one that had the affair! Cause she looks nothen like me!

Me too!

I'm so glad to know we're not the only spring chickens around here! We are 24 and when we started to look into adoption everyone told us we had to be at least 25 - even for Guatemala! We read through the laws and knew that wasn't true, but we couldn't find anyone who would listen! Finally, we ended up deciding to adopt a waiting child and our coordinator looked into everything. She approved our ages, but every few months she still would find out something and say "well, you may not be able to travel until at least one of you is 25". But, last month they finally settled the whole thing and agreed with us that we don't have to be 25. Of course, my birthday is in May and there is no way that we'll have Jayden home by then - we're not even in FC yet!

We don't have any biological children and now that we are adopting we don't know that we ever will. Adoption really gets into your blood!

OK...I'm 37 now (almost 38) so I am no longer a "young" Mom. But I had my first child at 23 and my next at 25. I always got strange looks and weird comments!

I am now one the youngest Moms at middle school and next year will repeat that process at high school..YIKES! Most of the other Moms are 10 to 20 years older than me at PTA.

I loved creating my family early (and don't think it matters whether done biologically or via adoption). I had lots of energy. I still get asked if my oldest (who is now taller than me) is my baby sister!!! It's fun.

Now that we've adopted...I'm a Mom at a different time in my life. And there are benefits to this as well. One is just plain old experience and a LOT more patience. Bringing home #3 has been fairly easy...with 14 years of parenting experience behind me.

I guess what I am babbling about is just this....mommyhood is the right time all the time! Enjoy being a young mommy...and then enjoy being a not so young mommy....both rock! There is no job as fulfilling.

I'm on the younger side, I like to think (LOL)
I'm 28, DH is 30.

We also get alot of strange looks from people about adopting so young (not having a child so young, but adopting - GO FIGURE!)'

I guess we are also young! I"m 28 and dh will be 31 on Monday. We decided to adopt before trying for bio children and were feeling a little like we were the only people in their 20's (well at least me) who would do such a thing! I"m glad to see there are lots others! Adoption takes alot of energy and I'm glad that I"m young (-ish) while doing it!
