What do you need to bring with you to Embassy?

I'm sure this question has been posted before, BUT...when you go for your embassy appointment what do you need to bring? We've both visited with our daughter. I know you need your income tax returns for the last 3 years...do they also require the W2's for each return? DO you need to bring a letter from your employer, pay check stubs?

Thanks for any help you all can offer!

My husband and I also visited our baby. All we needed at our embassy appt was our passports, the I600, and the DS-230.

I was given a packet of forms that we were told to fill out: 1-600, DS-230, last 3 years tax returns, latest W-2s, a tax affidavit form that needs to be notarized, Affidavit of support (I-864) also notarized, and our I-171h. My husband and I have both visited and thought that since Gabriella will be coming home on a IR-3 visa we wouldn't need to have all of these forms. (I think they are hard to fill out)

What about others that have visited?? Did anyone else also have to have all of these forms if they had visited?

embassy

I also visited and did not bring any papers at all. I was told (not by my agency but by other adoptive parents) that all I needed was my passport and that's all they requested to see. The attorney had me sign the I600 that he had filled out, but they never asked for tax records or anything else.

Our agency has told us that the embassy just changed their requirements (imagine that!) for people who haven't visited. They now need to bring just the last year's taxes, a certified copy. If you've both visited and you're both picking up then you don't need the tax information. The tax information is to prove that you can support an immigrant (which is what they consider your child if you didn't visit). If you visited, you're officially bringing home YOUR child in the eyes of our government and don't have to show proof that you can support him or her.

We were told to bring just the last years and they do NOT need to be certified. Or sw said she just did an escort and she did not have them certified, and they gave her back 2 of the 3 years since they just want one...

My agency emailed me a list of items: I600, last 3 years of Fed tax returns with W-2's, affidavit of tax returns notarized, vaccination form, I-864, copy of I171H, recent paystub or new employment letter, passport and homestudy and any addendums to the homestudy. Oh, and cash for the fees!

I was there last week. We brought the I-600 form, the vaccination form and employment letters. We both visited twice. The only thing they asked for was our passports, the vaccination form, and they looked briefly at my husband's employment letter...that's it. No taxes.

Yes...nobody mentioned it to us either! Is it the vaccination form for the baby, or one for the parents?

I believe the vaccination form is to swear that you will get your child vaccinated if they havn't been already. My sw said that you get the form with the pink slip and fill it out down there. No biggie!!

My agency sent me a copy of the vaccination form to fill out and get notarized before I go. It is just one piece of paper.
