Document question...

For the dossier, when it says short version of birth certificates, what does that mean? We have copies from 2004, do we need to get new copies of them or are they ok? I believe the registar has to be current?
My sons they corrected after birth and typed a line through an inaccurate date and put a star saying that it was revised at the bottom. Should that be ok?
How many certified copies of each document do you need?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,
Guatemala requires "fresh copies", so you will need to get new ones. They are typically very picky with cross out, typos etc., but I don't think Guatemala requires a birth cert. at all for other children, so the one you need is probably just for the agency.

When you apply for the long version... it has ALL the information on it. The short version has just basic what you need to know on it. They are the same thing... just simply one is long on the details and the other is short. The short is cheaper by almost half when getting a copy too!
