Question Exersaucer or Jumperoo?

If you had a choice of one or the other, which would you choose and why? We can't decide which to get.

Take your baby with you to a Toys R Us and see which one he prefers. Our son LOVED his jumperoo the minute we put him in it (in T R Us) that is how we decided we'd get it for him. I will say that we have an exersaucer for him to which he tries to use to jump in. Its actually broken because he jumps up and down like crazy in it. It is currently on the 2nd floor of our house and if he is in it and you are on the 1st floor it sounds like a herd of elephants are jumping up and down upstairs!

Good luck!

I have both and the exersaucer is my favorite. It "lasts longer" in that they can use it more and seems to be more entertaining. I cannot take a shower without mine. Mine enjoyed the jumpy, but once they get to a point, there is nothing to do but... jump. The exersaucer can contain a mobile child for as long as they are willing to be put in it. ( And technically you can put a yonger child in it if you need too it is more stable for a baby - 3-4 months- than a jumpie).

No Contest

No question, the JUMPEROO!!!

Everyone here (or most of you) know Addison's story and how she got so many babies hooked on this thing.
Yay...she loved it....
it's the absolute best!!!!!!

FYI., I brought her home at 8 months old and I felt this would last longer for her than the exersaucer. I was right. She jumped in this thing till well over a year old, when she was able to walk securely and then wanted to be more mobile...We also picked it up and took it with, on several out of town trips. Set it up in Nanny and PopPop's house, and she was jumping there too!

No contest in our house...LOL!

My daughter loves her Exersaucer - if it wasn't for her enjoying it... I'd never get a moment on-line

I bought both for my son, so I can give you the opinion of having tried them both. The winner... the Jumperoo hands down! My son LOVED it. He didn't like the excersaucer much at all because he wanted to be moving and all he could do was turn in a circle. Get the Jumperoo. Everyone I know that has one has loved it. But, keep in mind once he starts crawling he likely won't want to be in it as much at all. He won't want to be constrained when there is so much to get into!

Had them both...bought them both used...she hated to be separated from me..even in the exersaucer or jumperoo that was 6 inches away from me should would cry..didn't get much use out of either one! If you go to the consignment shop you can buy both for the price of 1 of them new...

Ava has both. She loves the jumperoo. We bought the jumberoo because of Miss Addison! We had the exersaucer from our older kids.

I vote for the jumperoo.

My son never liked the confinement of the jumperoo - we didn't have an exersaucer so I can't say, but I doubt he would have liked that either. He has always loved to just be on the floor.

I don't think either are a necessity. We didn't use them at all.

For what it's worth, pediatric physical therapists strongly recommend against using them, and if you do use them a max. of 20 minutes per day is most they suggest.

The best thing for babies is tummy and floor time. I know many children love them, but it really is not ideal for their physical development.

My 2 Cents...........

We had the exersaucer for both my son and for Carmen. Ours wasn't fancy (but it had plenty to keep them busy) so it was more affordable. They both loved them. Because the jumperoos were pricier than we wanted to spend, we got the Graco Jumpster (the doorway bouncer with the tray)....both of them LOVED that!! This way we were able to afford both an exersaucer AND a bouncy toy! Also, if you have limited space, the doorway jumper is a MUCH better choice (IMO) since you can take it down and put it up whenever you want to use it. Because it is so compact it is easy to travel with too.

Hands down the JUMPEROO. Bailey can only take the exersaucer when she is "in the mood" and then it does not last very long at all. She could live her in Jumperoo.

As for staying in for only 20 minutes, I asked my neighbor who works for a physical therapist at a very large children's hospital before buying one because I had heard these things were bad as well She asked her PTs the next day at work about it for me because she had never heard this. All of them agreed that as long as your child is getting adequate time on the tummy and sitting up, then a child is fine in a jumperoo or exersaucer and that when you are busy, it is actually safer for them. My pediatrician agreed so Bailey happily jumps herself silly.

I think they came up with a new version. I know they were going to. I managed to find one of the last remaining old ones on the shelf at Walmart right before pick up. I have no idea what the difference is.

I have a door hanging one as well. It was my niece's when she was a tot. The only thing I hate about them is depending on how avid a jumper your child is, it can start to mess up the wood work on the walls.
