I used windows movie maker. My computer had it already installed and it is pretty easy. Just play around with it.

I use windows movie maker too. It's pretty simple to use. Here's one of my two dogs I made a while back where it mixes actual video footage with still pictures. Moviemaker can do lots of neat things...
