Thought I was overdue for sharing a Bebito Danny update....
Bebito Danny is now 20 1/2 months old, and while he's tall enough to wear size 2T (and even some 3T clothes!) he's weighing in at about 28 pounds. So he's tall and thin -- lucky kid!!! (But tell my back about those 28 pounds...argh!! Lots of encouraging him to walk on his own these days!!) Today we had his favorite breakfast...pickypanky and binkbink. What? You have never had pickypanky and binkbink? You've been missing out. They actually serve these at the International House of Pickypanky, just in case you're wondering what it is. With syrup. Yummm..... The minute you put that pancake down in front of him, his face lights up, and he yells "PICKYPANKY!!!!" Then his head swivels around in search of the bacon... "Binkbink??? Binkbink???" After he finishes his first pancake and slice of bacon, it's "MAS?!!! MAS!!??" The boy can put it away!!! And...I'll admit it...on the weekends, we watch cartoons with breakfast. This morning, it was my daughter -- and now son's -- favorite. The minute the theme song begins... "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea..." Bebito Danny chimes right in... "BUM BOB!!! BUM BOB!!!" Personally, I'm not much a SpongeBob sort of person, but DH loves him, and now the kids do too! Bebito has a dead-on aim, and a very good throwing arm. DH and I are dreaming of college scholarships that involve any sport which requires good throwing!!!! Alas, Bebito likes to throw everything. We leave nothing within arm's reach, or it ends up across the room. (Can anybody suggest an indestructible brand of sippy cup? Big sigh!) Despite the utter lack of naps, he's been sleeping quite well at night, and most nights he goes straight through from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. The boy LOVES LOVES LOVES his pacha. I know...pacha-attachment and all that... but I'm not making him give it up until he's older. He adores it so much, and for a little guy who has had a lot of changes in his life, I figure his comfort bottles are something he can still have. He doesn't take a pacha to bed, but he loves his pacha before nap and during nighty-night time, and is particularly fond of a pacha while on the road (A "roadie.") Bebito seems to like watching the Olympics!! He even pretends to schuss! I think maybe when he's around 3 I may need to take him out on the slopes. I ski, but have been dying to take some snowboard lessons, so maybe the whole family will do that at some point. He has a large vocabulary for a little guy -- he's using about 60 different words, and is starting to put 2 words together here and there, but mostly his communication is conveyed with one word, gestures, and tone, including inflections to convey command and question, as in "DOWN!!!" when he's demanding to get down, versus, DOWN? when he's requesting. His favorite word is still "NO" but he seems to be adding variations now that he can say more. So instead of just sitting there hollering no, we hear "DOWN!" or "GO!" or "GUGO" (jugo/juice, in Bebito language). Despite his early trip to the terrible two's he's surprisingly polite, however, and no matter what you had him or do for him, he always says "THANK." Not Thanks, or Thank you. Just "Thank." It's pretty hilarious -- cracks everyone up at the stores and such!! He's also still a lover boy. We've been calling him Don Juan, because he ends up flirting with everyone! A pretty girl is not safe in the vicinity of this boy!!! So, that's the Bebito report, complete with pix for February 2006!! Bebito says "HAH-LOOOOOO!" Mary |

Hey Mary, your Danny is so cute, too bad we don't live closer so we could get Danny, Danny, and Ricco together! OMG, is the world ready for that! Love the pictures and I do have to tell you Ricco's first words were not Mama but SPONGE BOB. Who ever invented that one was high on something
Mr. Ricco is all boy too and if you read my Ever have one of those days posts, you know what I mean. You are so creative and I loved the Olympics picture. When I wanted to watch Ice Skating last week, the boys were in full revolt. So glad to see a great update. Mary (as in the other Mary)mom to Danny and Ricco |

Danny, Danny and Ricco
We definitely have to do a Danny, Danny and Ricco boyfest sometime. Maybe next time we get to Chicago. (I keep telling you about my handsome, single 40-something brother there...ALSO named Danny.... hmmmm....)
I read your "Ever have" post... what a day, what a day!!!!! ARGH!!! I suggested you find a box of Calgon that comes with Mary Poppins included!! You sounded like you needed one of those rare "days off!!!" So the kiddos don't want to watch ice skating? Warm em up with a bit of speed skating, and maybe you'll get them accustomed!! Watching some zooming around power laps with Cheek or Ohno (these two make my heart go pitty pat, even though I'm old enough to be their mother!), and eventually, they might handle some of the more flourishy stuff!!Mary Quote:

Mary,
It's good to hear that Bebito is doing so well! (But, I thought BumBob was BeeBoB! That's what Joe calls him, anyway). Maybe Joe and Bebito can play professional sports together someday--although I think we're looking for him to be a "special teams" football player--Joe LOVES football but is by no means large for his age. I love the way you edit your photos so we can see how Bebito really plays, in his mind! Carolyn
