I hope Alie is feeling better soon. I know how hard it is to get that Augmentin in them.... NOT fun!

Besides pedialyte, does she like jello? There's a lot of liquid in that.

Hope she is better soon (and yes, I agree, a trip to the doctor is in order).

they gave Juliet Amoxicillan for her phuemonia/ear infection. It worked great and she loved the taste. Everytime we gave it to her she said mmmmm. I guess if she can't keep it down you should ask the dr. if she could switch antibiotics.

Ask the pharmacy to flavor the antibiotics

Tina:
Many pharmacies don't advertise this very well and some charge extra for it, but it is worth it if it keeps the medicine down... take the liquid antibiotic back to the pharmacy and ask them to add flavor to it (they should have two or three - like grape, bubble gum, etc.).

I did this with liquid meds for previous fd and it worked like a charm - no gagging, no mess, no trauma. Might be worth asking about?

Hope your little one is quickly on the mend!
Andrea

Well, I did get the flavoring added and she still says it tastes yucky! Actually, the pharmacy I used had a list of like 30 different flavorings, I was astounded with the selection. Root beer, bubble gum, cinnamon, mint, then the old standbys cherry and grape too. Thanks for chiming in, tho, I appreciate it. I think part of the problem is she heard me and the dr. talking about the medicine being yucky!

It does look pretty nasty, really milky and thick.

I'm trying all kinds of liquids - juice boxes, popsicles, jello, even seven up which is a real treat for her - but she still isn't drinking a whole lot. Maybe after the antibiotic starts working she'll feel better and will begin drinking more.

Tina

Tina --

I'm sorry to hear that Alie has pneumonia. I hope she recover soon!

That Augmentin is vile! Dr. Montiel prescribed it for Gabriel's ear infection when we were in Guatemala. Gabriel absolutely hated it! I ended up switching to amoxycillin, which he tolerated much better.

Good luck and I hope Alie feels better soon!!
