Question Anyone Know Of a Good, Cheap Printer for my Adoption Announcement?

I know several of you have done announcements and I was looking for the most cost-effective way of getting the prints. Did you use online printers or photo places? I want good quality, but I only need about 30 or so. Any rec's???
Thanks,
Leah

Leah,
Have you looked into places like Wal-Mart? If you are having "edited" photos as your announcement, that would probably be the least expensive. They have quite a bit of creative things they can do as well.

Also, if you have a local camera or photography store, they may be able to do some more sophisticated things (like doing the editing for you) but would be a little more expensive.

As a thought, you may check with a local hospital and ask if they have recommendations on who people use for "birth" announcements.

Good luck!!

Hi Leah, if you have a printer at home you could buy photo paper and print them at home. I designed ours and print them at home. We have an injet HP Deskjet 712c an old one and it came pretty good!

Kodak online does nice announcements, for a quantity of 30 they'd probably end up being a dollar each, maybe a bit more? One disadvantage of printing at home is that you still have to purchase envelopes.

I thought about printing at home but yes, the envelopes- but also the ink is so expensive! I will check out Kodak online and walmart online too. I was trying to do one thru Clark prints online, I already use them for my digital prints, but they only allow like 150 characters, and of course I want to write a book! haha

I did our Christmas card as a standard 4X6 and did everything on the computer (text and all) and then just had them printed at our local photo store. It worked out really well and could print how ever many we needed and only paid $0.20 a print!

We used purple stork online. I saw someone else's announcement on the forum and fell in love with it. We paid appx. $100 for 50. They will sell as low as 30 though. They had a quick turn around too.... Maybe not too cheap, but they are adorable!!

sams

We had ours printed at sams. You take your own picture and can have 4 lines typed on there. We put his name, birth place, welcomed home and date.

They are really cheap. 100 for $25 they sell less, but I can't remember what the price is. We did our Christmas cards there too. I highly recommend them.

Best of luck

amy
