From a oldtimer/Questions
Hi Friends!
 I haven't stopped by here in such a long time. Matthew is now 16 months old!!! We just went to court yesterday to finalize his readoption. So, he is officially Matthew instead of Pablo.  Today we have our one year post-placement visit (a little early since he got home in April 2004). Question regarding paperwork- I figured out how to send off for the FL birth certificate.  I THINK that I figured out how to get his name changed on his Soc. Sec. card by mailing instead of going in again. DH is going to take care of changing his name with our insurance co. But, for the life of me I can't figure out how to get his name changed on his Cert. of Citizenship. (He came home on an IR-3, so it was issued under the other name.) Anyone know the form to use or how to do this?  Oh, and what is that form that I use to send off to get the original documents back from wherever they went when we went through immigration at the airport? I am just full of questions today.  It is great to see so many new people adopting and wonderful to see some oldtimers still hanging around here. I will try to post a picture of our sweeties if I can remember how to do it. Thanks for any information you can point me towards.

I can't help you with the COC (ours came with our son's "right" name on it), but you want the G884 to get your paperwork back. I don't believe it's available online. If you can't find it, PM me--I have it as a pdf that I can email you.

Instructions should have come with your COC. You have to file form N565 (I believe that's the correct number). and pay a 225.00 fee and it will be reissued with the new name. Congrats!!!! Our hearing is the 7th of March, so we'll be sending off for the new COC in a few weeks also.

CNA here we come..... 14 trips to Guatemala and numerous meetings and STILL NO COA!!! March 2009 Still awaiting COA (COME ON JUDGE!!) May 28, 2009 Birthday number 2 August 2009 Appeal's Court hearing, awaitng resolution....
