Anyone change from Escort to Travel? Does this take time?

Hello-

We from the beginning have planned on using the escort option. ( I will not fly, and my hubby can't get off of work) Our I-600A we checked the option that we will not meet our child before they enter the USA. I can't remember the exact wording. BUt the other wording was for those who would travel to bring their baby home. We checked the option that was for if you were going to use an escort.

Does anyone know if you originally were not travelling then decided to travel, did you have to change your INS form and/or did it take extra time?

I ask because we found out it will take an extra month if we escort. BUT since our I-600A says we will not travel I wonder IF we have to change that anyway? And IF we do, then that may take a few weeks or so to change it to travel and nearly match the month anyway, if my hubby decides to travel? Does that make sense?

Thanks,

Shelly

Hi,
We did the same thing. We had our i600 changed it didnt take that long mabey a couple of weeks for them to send the confirmation to Guatemala. It was so worth it. I was a first time flyer as well and it wasnt that bad and Guatemala is such a beautiful country and we are glad that we went...will have so much more to share with our child as he gets older.

Thanks for your reply.

Do you remember which form you had to change? Did your original I-600A say you wouldn't be travelling?(like ours does?)

Do you have to change your original I-600A to travel? Or just make note on your I-600?

So it took only a few weeks to change? That is good news.

Thanks so much for your reply, you are helping us weigh our options.
